ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಸೀತಾಯಾವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಪರುಷಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಃ|
ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ತತಃ ಸೀತಾಂ ವಿಪ್ರಿಯಂ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಾಮ್|| 1||

ಸ|| ಸೀತಾಯಾಃ ತತ್ ಪರುಷಂ ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಾಂ ತಂ ಸೀತಾಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಃ ವಿಪ್ರಿಯಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ||

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಯಥಾ ಯಥಾ ಸಾನ್ತ್ವಯಿತಾ ವಶ್ಯಃ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಣಾಂ ತಥಾ ತಥಾ|
ಯಥಾ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ವಕ್ತಾ ಪರಿಭೂತ ಸ್ತಥಾ ತಥಾ||2||
ಸನ್ನಿಯಮೇಚ್ಛತಿ ಮೇ ಕ್ರೋಥಂ ತ್ವಯಿ ಕಾಮಃ ಸಮುತ್ಥಿತಃ|
ದ್ರವತಽಮಾರ್ಗ ಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ಹಯಾ ನಿವ ಸುಸಾರಥಿಃ||3||
ವಾಮಃ ಕಾಮೋ ಮನುಷ್ಯಾಣಾಂ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಕಿಲ ನಿಬಧ್ಯತೇ|
ಜನೇ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸ್ತ್ವನುಕ್ರೋಶ ಸ್ನೇಹಶ್ಚ ಕಿಲ ಜಾಯತೇ ||4||

ಸ|| ಸ್ತ್ರೀಣಾಂ ಯಥ ಯಥಾ ಸಾನ್ತ್ವಯಿತಾ ತಥಾ ತಥಾ ವಶ್ಯಃ ಯಥಾ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ವಕ್ತಾ ತಥಾ ತಧಾ ಪರಿಭೂತಃ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|| ತ್ವಯಿ ಸಮುತ್ಥಿಥಾ ಕಾಮಃ ಸುಸಾರಥಿಃ ಅಮಾರ್ಗಂ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ದ್ರವತಃ ಹಯಾನಿವ ಮೇ ಕ್ರೋಧಂ ಸನ್ನಿಯಮೇಚ್ಛತಿ ||ಮನುಷ್ಯಾಣಾಂ ಕಾಮಃ ವಾಮಃ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ಜನೇ ನಿಬಧ್ಯತೇ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಅನುಕ್ರೋಶಃ ಸ್ನೇಹಃ ಚ ಜಾಯತೇ ಕಿಲ||

Among the women more and more the passionate one is courteous, the more he speaks sweetly, the more he is humiliated. That passion that has arisen me has controlled anger like a good charioteer controls the horses that are running on a wrong path. Among men the love is partial and is bound it generate friendship and compassion in one who is punishable.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಏತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕಾರಾಣಾನ್ ನ ತ್ವಾಂ ಘಾತಯಾಮಿ ವರಾನನೇ|
ವಧಾರ್ಹಾಂ ಅವಮಾನಾರ್ಹಾಂ ಮಿಥ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರವ್ರಜಿತೇ ರತಾಮ್||5||
ಪರುಷಾಣೀಹ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನಿ ಯಾನಿ ಯಾನಿ ಬ್ರವೀಷಿ ಮಾಮ್|
ತೇಷು ತೇಷು ವಧೋಯುಕ್ತಃ ತವ ಮೈಥಿಲಿ ದಾರುಣಃ||6||
ಏವಮುಕ್ತ್ವಾತು ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ರಾವಣೋ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಃ|
ಕ್ರೋಧಸಂರಮ್ಭ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಃ ಸೀತಾಂ ಉತ್ತರಮಬ್ರವೀತ್||7||

ಸ|| ವರಾನನೇ ಏತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ ವಧಾರ್ಹಂ ಅವಮಾನಾರ್ಹಂ ಮಿಥ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರವ್ರಜಿತೇ ರತಾಮ್ ತ್ವಾಂ ನ ಘಾತಯಾಮಿ || ಮೈಥಿಲಿ ಯಾನಿ ಯಾನಿ ಪರುಷಾಣೀಹ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನಿ ಮಾಮ್ ಬ್ರವೀಷಿ ತೇಷು ತೇಷು ತವ ವಧಃ ಯುಕ್ತಃ || ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ಸೀತಾಂ ಏವಮ್ ಉಕ್ತ್ವಾತು ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಃ ಕ್ರೋಧಸಂರಂಭ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಃ ರಾವಣಃ ಉತ್ತರಂ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್

' For these reasons Oh the best among women! though worthy of being killed and worthy of being put to shame, you will not be killed. Maithili whatever angry words you have told me for those words you deserve to be killed'. Having said this to Sita the daughter of Videha, the king of Rakshasa continued and said the following in anger mixed with excitement.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ದ್ವೌಮಾಸೌ ರಕ್ಷಿತವ್ಯೌ ಮೇ ಯೋಽವಧಿಸ್ತೇ ಮಯಾ ಕೃತಃ|
ತತ ಶ್ಶಯನಮಾರೋಹ ಮಮತ್ವಂ ವರವರ್ಣಿನೀ ||8||
ಊರ್ಧ್ವಂ ದ್ವಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ತು ಮಾಸಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಭರ್ತಾರಂ ಮಾ ಮನಿಚ್ಛತೀಮ್|
ಮಮ ತ್ವಾಂ ಪ್ರಾತರಾಶಾರ್ಥಂ ಆಲಭನ್ತೇ ಮಹಾನಸೇ||9||

ಸ|| ಮಯಾ ತೇ ಯಃ ಅವಧಿಃ ಕೃತಃ | ದ್ವೌ ಮಾಸೌ ಮೇ ರಕ್ಷಿತವ್ಯೌ ವರವರ್ಣಿನೀ ತತಃ ಮಮ ಶಯನಂ ಆರೋಹ || ದ್ವಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಮಾಸಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಊರ್ಧ್ವಂ ಮಾಂ ಭರ್ತಾರಮ್ ಅನಿಚ್ಛತೀಂ ತ್ವಾಂ ಮಮ ಪ್ರಾತರಾಶಾರ್ಥಂ ಮಹನನೇ ಆಲಭಂತೇ||

'I am giving you a deadline. O Lady of beautiful color ! you are protected for two months. There after you have to climb into my bed. Beyond two months if you do not wish to accept me as your husband then you will be sent the kitchen to be cooked as my breakfast'.

ದೇವಗನ್ಧರ್ವಕನ್ಯಾಃ ವಿಷೇದುರ್ವಿಕೃತೇಕ್ಷಣಾಃ||10||
ಓಷ್ಠಪ್ರಕಾರೈಃ ಅಪರಾ ವಕ್ತ್ರನೇತ್ರೈ ಸ್ತಥಾಽಪರೇ |
ಸೀತಾಂ ಆಶ್ವಾಸಯಾಮಾಸುಸ್ತರ್ಜಿತಾಂ ತೇನ ರಕ್ಷಸಾ||11||
ತಾಭಿರಾಶ್ವಾಸಿತಾ ಸೀತಾ ರಾವಣಮ್ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಮ್|
ಉವಾಚಾತ್ಮಹಿತಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ವೃತ್ತ ಶೌಣ್ಡೀರ್ಯ ಗರ್ವಿತಮ್|| 12||

ಸ|| ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರೇಣ ತರ್ಜ್ಯಮಾನಂ ತಾಂ ಜಾನಕೀಂ ಸಂಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ದೇವಗಂಧರ್ವಕನ್ಯಾಃ ವಿಕೃತೇಕ್ಷಣಾಃ ವಿಷೇದುಃ || ತೇನ ರಕ್ಷಸಾ ತರ್ಜಿತಾಂ ತಾಂ ಸೀತಾಂ ಅಪರಾಂ ಔಷ್ಟಪ್ರಕಾರೈಃ ತಥಾ ಅಪರಾಃ ವಕ್ತ್ರನೇತ್ರೈಃ ಆಶ್ವಾಸಯಾಮಾಸುಃ || ತಾಭಿಃ ಆಶ್ವಾಸಿತಾ ಸೀತಾ ವೃತ್ತಶೌಂಡೀರ್ಯ ಗರ್ವಿತಂ ಆತ್ಮಹಿತಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಂ ರಾವಣಮ್ ಉವಾಚ||

Seeing that Janaki who is being threatened by the king of Rakshasas, the Deva and Gandharva women wept with distressed eyes. Sita being threatened by that Rakshasa, was consoled by the others with movement of lips and yet others with movement of eyes and faces. Thus consoled Sita, proud of the power of her virtues, said the following in her defense to Ravana the king of Rakshasas.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ನೂನಂ ನತೇ ಜನಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಅಸ್ತಿ ನಿಶ್ಶ್ರೇಯಸೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ|
ನಿವಾರಯತಿ ಯೋ ನ ತ್ವಾಮ್ ಕರ್ಮಣೋಽಸ್ಮಾತ್ ವಿಗರ್ಹಿತಾತ್||13||
ಮಾಂ ಹಿ ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪತ್ನೀಂ ಶಚೀಮಿವ ಶಚೀಪತೇಃ|
ತ್ವದನ್ಯಃ ತ್ರಿಷು ಲೋಕೇಷು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯೇ ನ್ಮನಸಾಽಪಿ ಕಃ||14||
ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಮ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಭಾರ್ಯಾಂ ಅಮಿತ ತೇಜಸಃ|
ಉಕ್ತವಾನಪಿ ಯತ್ಪಾಪಂ ಕ್ವ ಗತ ಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಮೋಕ್ಷ್ಯಸೇ||15||

ಸ|| ನಿಶ್ರೇಯಸೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಜನಃ ಯೋ ತ್ವಾಂ ಅಸ್ಮಾತ್ ವಿಗರ್ಹಿತಾತ್ ಕರ್ಮಣಃ ನಿವಾರಯತಿ ನ ಅಸ್ತಿ ನೂನಂ || ಶಚೀಪತೇಃ ಶಚೀಮಿವ ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪತ್ನೀಂ ಮಾಂ ತ್ರಿಷು ಲೋಕೇಷು ತ್ವದನ್ಯಃ ಕಃ ಮನಸಾದಪಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯೇತ್ || ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಮ ಅಮಿತ ತೇಜಸಃ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಭಾರ್ಯಾಂ ಯತ್ ಪಾಪಂ ಉಕ್ತವಾನ್ ಅಸಿ ತಸ್ಯ ಕ್ವ ಗತಃ ಮೋಕ್ಷ್ಯಸೇ ||

Surely people who are interested in your welfare who can prevent you from this despicable act are surely not there. In the three worlds there is no body other than you who can even in his mind desire me the righteous Ram's wife who is pure like Sachi, the wife of Indra. Oh the Lowest among Rakshasas, for the sinful words you spoke to the wife of Rama who is of great brilliance, where can you go to escape the consequences?

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಯಥಾ ದೃಪ್ತಶ್ಚ ಮಾತಙ್ಗಃ ಶಶ ಶ್ಚ ಸಹಿತೋ ವನೇ|
ತಥಾ ದ್ವಿರದವದ್ರಾಮಸ್ತ್ವಂ ನೀಚ ಶಶವತ್ ಸ್ಮೃತಃ||16||
ಸ ತ್ವಂ ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕುನಾಥಂ ವೈ ಕ್ಷಿಪನ್ನಿಹನ ಲಜ್ಜಸೇ|
ಚಕ್ಷುಷೋರ್ವಿಷಯಂ ತಸ್ಯ ನ ತಾವ ದುಪಗಚ್ಛಸಿ||17||
ಇಮೇ ತೇ ನಯನೇ ಕ್ರೂರೇ ವಿರೂಪೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪಿಙ್ಗಳೇ |
ಕ್ಷಿತೌ ನ ಪತಿತೇ ಕಸ್ಮಾನ್ಮಾಮನಾರ್ಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತಃ||18||

ಸ|| ಯುಧಿ ಸದೃಶಃ ದೃಪ್ತಃ ಮಾತಂಗಃ ಶಶಃ ಚ ಯಥಾ , ತಥಾ ರಾಮಃ ದ್ವಿರವತ್ ತ್ವಂ ನೀಚಃ ಶಶವತ್ ಸ್ಮೃತಃ || ಸಃ ತ್ವಂ ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕುನಾಥಂ ಕ್ಷಿಪನ್ ನ ಲಜ್ಜಸೇ ತಸ್ಯ ಚಕ್ಷೋರ್ವಿಷಯಂ ತಾವತ್ ನ ಉಪಗಚ್ಛಸಿ || ಅನಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಮ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷತಃ ತೇ ಕೄರೇ ವಿರೂಪೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪಿಂಗಾಕ್ಷೇ ಇಮೇ ನಯನೇ ಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ನ ಪತಿತೇ ಕ್ಷಿತೌ|

Like an arrogant elephant in battle with a dog, in the same way you are like a mean dog and Rama is like the elephant. You should be ashamed of looking down upon that scion of Ikshavakus in whose sight you dare not walked. Oh Dishonorable wretch, seeing me with those dark brown eyes, why those eyes are not falling off on the ground?.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ತಸ್ಯ ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪತ್ನೀಂ ಸ್ನುಷಾಂ ದಶರಥಸ್ಯ ಚ|
ಕಥಂ ವ್ಯಾಹರತೋ ಮಾಂ ತೇನ ಜಿಹ್ವಾ ವ್ಯವಸೀರ್ಯತೇ||19||
ಅಸಂದೇಶಾತ್ತು ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ತಪಸಶ್ಚಾನುಪಾಲನಾತ್|
ನ ತ್ವಾಂ ಕುರ್ಮಿ ದಶಗ್ರೀವ ಭಸ್ಮ ಭಸ್ಮಾರ್ಹ ತೇಜಸಾ||20||
ನಾಪಹರ್ತು ಮಹಂ ಶಕ್ಯಾ ತ್ವಯಾ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಧೀಮತಃ|
ವಿಧಿಸ್ತವ ವಧಾರ್ಧಾಯ ವಿಹಿತೋ ನಾತ್ರ ಸಂಶಯಃ||21||
ಶೂರೇಣ ಧನದಭ್ರಾತ್ರಾ ಬಲೈ ಸ್ಸಮುದಿತೇನ ಚ|
ಅಪೋಹ್ಯಾ ರಾಮಂ ಕಸ್ಮಾದ್ಧಿ ದಾರಚೌರ್ಯಂ ತ್ವಯಾ ಕೃತಮ್||22||

ಸ|| ತಸ್ಯ ( ರಾಮಸ್ಯ) ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪತ್ನೀಂ ದಶರಥಸ್ಯ ಸ್ನುಷಾ ಚ ಮಾಂ ವ್ಯಾಹರತೋ ತೇನ ಜಿಹ್ವಾ ಕಥಂ ನ ವ್ಯವಸೀರ್ಯತೇ | ಭಸ್ಮಾರ್ಹ ದಶಗ್ರೀವ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಅಸಂದೇಶಾತ್ ತಪಸಃ ಅನುಪಾಲನಾತ್ ತೇಜಸಾ ತ್ವಾಂ ಭಸ್ಮ ನಕುರ್ಮಿ|| ಧೀಮತಃ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಅಹಂ ತ್ವಯಾ ಅಪಹರ್ತುಂ ನ ಶಕ್ಯಾ | ತವ ವಧಾರ್ಹಾಯ ವಿಧಿಃ ಅತ್ರ ವಿಹಿತಃ ನ ಸಂಶಯಃ||ಶೂರೇಣ ಧನದಭ್ರಾತ್ರಾ ಬಲೈಃ ಸಮುದಿತೇನ ಚ ತ್ವಯಾ ರಾಮಂ ಅಪೋಹ್ಯ ಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ದಾರಚೌರ್ಯಂ ಕೃತಂ |

While you thus speak to me, the wife of that righteous one and the daughter in law of King Dasaratha, why does not your tongue not fall on the ground. Though you deserve to be turned into ashes , oh Ten headed one ! for want of permission from Rama I am not turning you to ashes with my powers of penance. You are not capable of stealing me from Rama. Fate has made it happen for your death only. There is no doubt. You are a brother of Kubera , being a warrior and you are possessed of an army, So why did you steal his wife, by tricking him?

ವಿವೃತ್ಯ ನಯನೇ ಕ್ರೂರೇ ಜಾನಕೀ ಮನ್ವವೈಕ್ಷತ||23||

ಸ|| ರಾವಣಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಃ ಸೀತಾಯಾಃ ವಚನಮ್ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಜಾನಕೀಂ ಕೄರೇ ವಿವೃತ್ಯನಯನೇ ಅನ್ವವೈಕ್ಷತ||

Ravana hearing those words of Sita looked at her with deadly eyes.

ಸಿಂಹಸತ್ವಗತಿಃ ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ದೀಪ್ತಜಿಹ್ವಾಗ್ರಲೋಚನಃ||24||
ಚಲಾಗ್ರಮಕುಟಪ್ರಾಂಶುಃ ಚಿತ್ರಮಾಲ್ಯಾನುಲೇಪನಃ|
ರಕ್ತಮಾಲ್ಯಾಮ್ಬರಧರಃ ತಪ್ತಾಂಗದ ವಿಭೂಷಣಃ||25||
ಶ್ರೋಣಿ ಸೂತ್ರೇಣ ಮಹತಾ ಮೇಚಕೇನ ಸುಸಂವೃತಃ|
ಅಮೃತೋತ್ಪಾದನದ್ದೇನ ಭುಜಗೇನೈವ ಮನ್ದರಃ||26||

ಸ|| ನೀಲಜೀಮೂತ ಸಂಕಾಶಃ ಮಹಾಭುಜಶಿರೋಧರಃ ಸಿಂಹಸತ್ವಗತಿಃ ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ದೀಪ್ತ ಜಿಹ್ವಾಗ್ರಲೋಚನಃ |ಚಲಾಗ್ರಮಕುಟಪ್ರಾಂಶುಃ ಚಿತ್ರಮಾಲ್ಯಾನುಲೇಪನಃ ರಕ್ತಮಾಲ್ಯಾಂಬರಧರಃ ತತ್ಸಂಗದವಿಭೂಷಣಃ||ಅಮೃತೋತ್ಪಾದನದ್ಧೇನ ಭುಜಗೇನ ಮನ್ದರಃ ಇವ ಮಹತಾ ಮೇಚಕೇನ ಶ್ರೋಣಿಸೂತ್ರೇಣ ಸುಸಂವೃತಃ||

He was looking like mass of dark clouds, with strong arms and neck, with the gait of a lion , blazing eyes and tongue. He was wearing colorful garlands with an unsteady crown on his head, with red colored clothes and garlands as well as shining ornamental armlets. With black thread around his waist he was like the mount Mandara wrapped with black serpent at the time of the great churning for the nectar

ರಕ್ತಪಲ್ಲವಪುಷ್ಪಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಅಶೋಕಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಇವಾಚಲಃ||28||
ಸಕಲ್ಪವೃಕ್ಷಪ್ರತಿಮೋ ವಸಂತ ಇವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಮಾನ್|
ಶ್ಮಶಾನಚೈತ್ಯಪ್ರತಿಮೋ ಭೂಷಿತಽಪಿ ಭಯಂಕರಃ||29||

ಸ|| ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಭುಜಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಶೃಂಗಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಮಂದರ ಇವ ಸಃ ಅಚಲಸಂಕಾಸಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಶ್ವರಃ ಶುಶುಭೇ|| ತರುಣಾದಿತ್ಯ ವರ್ಣಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಕುಣ್ಡಲಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವಿಭೂಷಿತಃ ರಕ್ತಪಲ್ಲವಪುಷ್ಪಾಭ್ಯಂ ಅಶೋಕಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಅಚಲಃ ಇವ||ಕಲ್ಪವೃಕ್ಷಪ್ರತಿಮಃ ಸಃ ಮೂರ್ತಿಮಾನ್ ವಸಂತಃ ಇವ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಚೈತ್ಯಪ್ರತಿಮಃ ಭೂಷಿತಃ ಅಪಿ ಭಯಂಕರಃ ||

The King of Rakshasas shone like the mount Mandara with his two long arms shining like two mountain peaks. Adorned with earrings of the color of the rising sun, he was looking like a mountain with two Ashoka trees with red leaves and flowers. Though resembling a wish fulfilling tree, like personification of spring season, he was fearsome like a memorial on burial grounds.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಅವೇಕ್ಷಮಾಣೋ ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ಕೋಪಸಂರಕ್ತ ಲೋಚನಃ|
ಉವಾಚ ರಾವಣಃ ಸೀತಾಂ ಭುಜಙ್ಗ ಇವ ನಿಶ್ಶ್ವಸನ್||30||
ಅನಯೇನಾಭಿಸಂಪನ್ನಮ್ ಅರ್ಥಹೀನಂ ಅನುವ್ರತೇ|
ನಾಶಯಾ ಮ್ಯಹಮದ್ಯ ತ್ವಾಂ ಸೂರ್ಯಃ ಸನ್ಧ್ಯಾ ಮಿವೌಜಸಾ||31||
ಇತ್ಯುಕ್ತ್ವಾ ಮೈಥಿಲೀಂ ರಾಜ ರಾವಣಃ ಶತ್ರು ರಾವಣಃ|
ಸಂದಿದೇಶ ತತಃ ಸರ್ವಾ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೀರ್ಘೋರದರ್ಶನಾಃ||32||

ಸ|| ಕೋಪಸಂರಕ್ತ ಲೋಚನಃ ರಾವಣಃ ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ಅವೇಕ್ಷಮಾಣಃ ಭುಜಂಗ ಇವ ನಿಃಶ್ವಸನ್ ಸೀತಾಂ ಉವಾಚ|| ಅನಯೇನ ಅಭಿಸಂಪನ್ನಂ ಅರ್ಥ ಹೀನಂ ಅನುವ್ರತೇ ಅದ್ಯ ಅಹಂ ತ್ವಾಂ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಔಜಸಾಸನ್ಧ್ಯಾಮಿವ ನಾಶಯಾಮಿ || ರಾಜಾ ಶತ್ರುರಾವಣಃ ಮೈಥಿಲೀಂ ಇತಿ ಉಕ್ತ್ವಾ ತತಃ ಘೋರದರ್ಶನಾಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೀಃ ಸಂದಿದೇಶ||

Looking at Vaidehi , with his eyes flashing red with anger and hissing like a serpent, Raven spoke to Sites' Sita You are endowed with a wrong vows, following meaningless practices. I am going to destroy you like the Sun destroys twilight with his luster. Having said this the king, who torments his enemies, then addressed the fearsome looking Rakshasa women.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಏಕಾಕ್ಷೀಂ ಏಕಕರ್ಣಾಂ ಚ ಕರ್ಣಪ್ರಾವರಣಂ ತಥಾ|
ಗೋಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಹಸ್ತಿಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಚ ಲಮ್ಬಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಅಕರ್ಣಿಕಾಮ್||33||
ಹಸ್ತಿ ಪಾದ್ಯಶ್ವಪಾದ್ಯೌ ಚ ಗೋಪಾದೀಂ ಪಾದಚೂಳಿಕಮ್|
ಏಕಾಕ್ಷೀಂ ಏಕಪಾದೀಂ ಚ ಪೃಥುಪಾದೀಂ ಅಪಾದಿಕಾಮ್||34||
ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರ ಶಿರೋ ಗ್ರೀವಾಂ ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರ ಕುಚೋದರೀಮ್|
ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರಸ್ಯ ನೇತ್ರಾಂ ಚ ದೀರ್ಘಜಿಹ್ವಾಂ ಅಜಿಹ್ವಿಕಾಮ್||35||
ಅನಾಶಿಕಾಂ ಸಿಂಹಮುಖೀಂ ಗೋಮುಖೀಂ ಸೂಕರೀಮುಖೀಮ್|

ಸ|| ಏಕಾಕ್ಷೀಂ ಏಕಕರ್ಣಾಂ ತಥಾ ಕರ್ಣಪ್ರಾವರಣಂ ಚ ಗೋಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಹಸ್ತಿಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಲಂಬಕರ್ಣೀಂ ಅಕರ್ಣಿಕಾಮ್ ಚ||ಹಸ್ತಿಪಾದ್ಯಃ ಅಶ್ವಪಾದ್ಯಃ ಗೋಪಾದೀಂ ಪಾದಚೂಳೀಕಾಂ ಚ ಏಕಾಕ್ಷೀಂ ಏಕಪಾದೀಂ ಪೃಥುಪಾದೀಂ ಅಪಾದಿಕಾಂ ಚ|| ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರ ಶಿರೋಗ್ರೀವಾಂ ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರ ಕುಚೋದರೀಂ ಅತಿಮಾತ್ರಸ್ಯ ನೇತ್ರಾಂ ಚ ದೀರ್ಘಜಿಹ್ವಾಂ ಅಜಿಹ್ವಿಕಾಂ ಚ || ಅನಾಸಿಕಾಂ ಸಿಂಹಮುಖೀಂ ಗೋಮುಖೀಂ ಸೂಕರೀಮುಖೀಂ ಚ|

Some Rakshasa women are with one eye, one ear. Some are with covered ears, ears of cow, ears of an elephant, long ears and there are those without ears. They have feet of an elephant, horse, or cow. Some of them have hair grown on the feet. Some are with one eye, one leg, many feet, and without feet too. Some are with huge neck and head, with large breasts and belly. Some are with large eyes, long tongue, without tongue too. Some are without nose, with the face of a lion, cow and boar too

ಪ್ರತಿಲೋಮಾನು ಲೋಮೈಶ್ಚ ಸಾಮದಾನಾದಿ ಭೇದನೈಃ||37||
ಅವರ್ಜಯತ ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ದಣ್ಡಸ್ಯೋದ್ಯಮನೇನಚ|
ಇತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಸಮಾದಿಶ್ಯ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇನ್ದ್ರಃ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ||38||
ಕಾಮಮನ್ಯುಪರೀತಾತ್ಮಾ ಜಾನಕೀಂ ಪರ್ಯತರ್ಜಯತ್|

ಸ|| ರಾಕ್ಷಸ್ಯಃ ಸರ್ವಾಃ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ಸಮೇತ್ಯ ಜಾನಕೀ ಸೀತಾ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ಯಥಾ ಮದ್ವಶಗಾ ಭವತಿ ತಥಾ ಕುರುತ||ಪ್ರತಿಲೋಮಾನುಲೋಮೈಶ್ಚ ಸಾಮದಾನಾದಿಭೇದನೈಃ ದಣ್ಡಸ್ಯ ಉದ್ಯಮಾನೇನ ವೈದೇಹೀಂ ಅವರ್ಜಯತ|| ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಃ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ ಇತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಸಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ಕಾಮಮನ್ಯುಪರೀತಾತ್ಮಾ ಜಾನಕೀಂ ಪರ್ಯತರ್ಜಯತ್ ||

'Oh Rakshasa women all of you together quickly make Sita to be under my control. Adopting means favorable or contrary using the persuasion, gifts , confusion, or threats win over Vaidehi'. The king of Rakshasas burning with passion and anger thus ordering them again and again threatened Sita.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಉಪಗಮ್ಯ ತತಃ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೀ ಧಾನ್ಯಮಾಲಿನೀ||39||
ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಂ ಇದಂ ವಚನಮಬ್ರವೀತ್|
ಮಯಾಕ್ರೀಡ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಸೀತಯಾ ಕಿಂ ತವಾನಯಾ||40||
ವಿವರ್ಣಯಾ ಕೃಪಣಯಾ ಮಾನುಷ್ಯಾ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಶ್ವರ|
ನೂನಂ ಅಸ್ಯಾ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ನ ದಿವ್ಯಾನ್ ಭೋಗಸತ್ತಮಾನ್||41||
ವಿದದಧಾತ್ಯಮರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ತವ ಬಾಹುಬಲಾರ್ಜಿತಾನ್|

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಧಾನ್ಯಮಾಲಿನೀ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೀ ಶೀಘ್ರಂ ಉಪಗಮ್ಯ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಂ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ಇದಂ ವಚನಂ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್||ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಮಯಾ ಕ್ರೀಡ| ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಶ್ವರ ವಿವರ್ಣಯಾ ಕೃಪಣಯಾ ಮಾನುಷ್ಯಾ ಅನಯಾ ಸೀತಯಾ ತವ ಕಿಂ || ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಅಮರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ತವ ಬಾಹುಬಲಾರ್ಜಿತಾನ್ ದಿವ್ಯಾನ್ ಭೋಗಸತ್ತಮಾನ್ ಅಸ್ಯಾಃ ನೂನಂ ನ ವಿದಧಾತಿ ||

Then a Rakshasa woman Dhyanamalini quickly approached the ten headed one embracing him said the following words. 'Oh King ! Play with me. Oh King of Rakshasas! What have you to do with this pale, pitiable human being Sita? Oh Great King ! The immortal luxuries won by the power of your arms are not to be given to this one surely'.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಅಕಾಮಂ ಕಾಮಯಾನಸ್ಯ ಶರೀರಮುಪತಪ್ಯತೇ||42||
ಇಚ್ಛನ್ತೀಂ ಕಾಮಯಾನಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿರ್ಭವತಿ ಶೋಭನಾ|
ಏವಮುಕ್ತಸ್ತು ರಾಕ್ಷಸ್ಯಾ ಸಮುತ್‍ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಸ್ತತೋ ಬಲೀ||43||
ಪ್ರಹಸನ್ಮೇಘ ಸಙ್ಕಾಶೋ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ಸ ನ್ಯವರ್ತತ|

ಸ|| ಅಕಾಮಾಂ ಕಾಮಯಾನಸ್ಯ ಶರೀರಂ ಉಪತಪ್ಯತೇ ಇಚ್ಛಂತೀಂ ಕಾಮಯಾನಸ್ಯ ಶೋಭನಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿಃ ಭವತಿ ||ರಾಕ್ಷಸ್ಯಾ ಏವಮುಕ್ತಃ ಬಲೀ ಮೇಘಸಂಕಾಶಃ ಸಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ತತಃ ಸಮುತ್‍ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತಃ ಪ್ರಹಸನ್ ನ್ಯವರ್ತತ||

'Offering oneself to an uncaring one is tormented. Offering oneself to one who loves gets enjoyable pleasures'. Having been addressed thus, the powerful Rakshasa resembling a cloud turned away laughing heartily.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಸ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಃ ಕಂಪಯನ್ನಿವ ಮೇದಿನೀಮ್||44||
ಜ್ವಲದ್ಭಾಸ್ಕರವರ್ಣಾಭಾಂ ಪ್ರವಿವೇಶ ನಿವೇಶನಮ್|
ದೇವಗನ್ಧರ್ವ ಕನ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ ನಾಗಕನ್ಯಾಶ್ಚ ಸರ್ವತಃ|
ಪರಿವಾರ್ಯ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಂ ವಿವಿಶು ಸ್ತಂ ಗೃಹೋತ್ತಮಮ್ ||45||

ಸ|| ಸಃ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಃ ಮೇದಿನೀಂ ಕಂಪಯನ್ನಿವ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಜ್ವಲದಭಾಸ್ಕರವರ್ಣಾಭಮ್ ನಿವೇಶನಮ್ ಪ್ರವಿವೇಶ||ದೇವಗಂಧರ್ವಕನ್ಯಾಃ ಚ ನಾಗಕನ್ಯಾಃ ಚ ಸರ್ವತ್ಃ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಂ ಪರಿವಾರ್ಯ ತಂ ಗೃಹೋತ್ತಮಂ ವಿವಿಶುಃ||

That ten headed one left as if shaking the earth, entered his residence with the glow like that of the blazing mid-day Sun. The daughters of Devas Gandharvas and Nagas too followed the ten headed one and entered their palace.

ಸ್ವಮೇವ ವೇಶ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಿವೇಶ ಭಾಸ್ವರಮ್||46||

ಸ|| ಸಃ ರಾವಣಃ ಧರ್ಮಪರಾಂ ಅವಸ್ಥಿತಾಂ ಪ್ರವೇಪಮಾನಾಂ ಮೈಥಿಲೀಂ ಪರಿಭರ್ತ್ಸ್ಯ ಸೀತಾಂ ವಿಹಾಯ ಮದನೇನ ಮೋಹಿತಃ ಭಾಸ್ವರಂ ಸ್ವಂ ವೇಶ್ಮೇವಪ್ರವಿವೇಶ||

Having derided Mythili who is steadfast wedded to righteous conduct, who is trembling with fear, that Ravana who is over powered with passion left and he entered his glittering mansion.
